What We Do

music IS free is an introduction to the idea of a world without money. There is no more filling of the Fat Cats pockets with shiny silver, only free music. All of our events are free entry.

We currently put on our free entry monthly nights in Manchester but plan to spread our seed all over the world with help from you! As more people join the music IS free community the word of our free events is spread and more people come to our gigs. Our plan is to have a music IS free team in each major city.

The music scene has turned into a massive money making shambles resulting in many amazing bands and talented musicians becoming lost and never heard. We are taking away the idea of making a profit from musicians and giving them what they really want. A fan base.

All of our events are free entry and many allow under 18's giving the musicians a place to play and the people a free night out. With the current economic climate music IS free helps to save the pennies whilst providing quality entertainment in a world where things seem to be getting more and more expensive.

What We Want To Do

When our new site is up users will be able to get involved and put on their own music IS free events in their own towns/cities/countries and help to spread the word of free music further.

We also plan to release free download-able compilations of the bands we put on and eventually branch out into giving away whole albums for free via download. In a world where many people illegally download music every second without realising they are stealing this is definitely the way to go.

Manchester has always been well known for its musical influence on the world so what better time than now to begin a new revolution.
